About
Meagan grew up in Alaska writing poems about injustice and hot boys. She left Alaska to study poetry and literature at the University of Idaho, then spent fifteen years in government communications before breaking up with her career to pursue creative writing.
She earned her MFA in fiction at Pacific Lutheran University’s Rainier Writing Workshop. That was a very, very good time. The Ocean in My Ears (2017, Ooligan Press) is her first novel. Her short work has appeared in Narrative, Barrelhouse, and Fugue, as well as the regional anthology, Timberland Writes Together. She lived and played in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, daughter, dog, two stinky goats, and many chickens until 2019 when she moved to the village of Heeze, The Netherlands.

Hi friend! I’m glad you’re still reading because this is where I reveal random stuff about myself, like my love for cuddly-type things. I heart Dwarf Nigerian goaties super mucho. Here is a baby picture of two goats I used to have when I lived in the US. I miss my goats.
Other animals I love include my dog, Itsy. She came with us to The Netherlands, though flying her over was a stressful ordeal.
Next let’s discuss food.
Favorite foods include Endangered Species chocolate bars, especially the dark chocolate with caramel and sea salt (the one with the eagle on the front) and the smooth milk chocolate (the one with the otter on the front). Other ridiculously mega delish foods:
- Mashed Potatoes.
- Hummus and naan.
- Cheese. Most any kind.
- OlyKraut.
- Bone Broth. (yes, for real)
- Amy’s Southwestern soup and also Amy’s Organic Chili.
- Chips and salsa. (sometimes mixed with sour cream)
If I had unlimited supplies of these foods, I could survive even a pandemic and live happily ever after.
Lastly, clothes.
Here are my fav articles of clothing. They all begin with the letter “s.”
- Scarves
- Stretchy skirts, stretchy shirts, and stretchy pants
- Sleeping bag coat (modeled by me below)
Now that you know these random things, what are your favorites?
It’s okay. You can tell me anything.
